Chairman: Thomas J. Embrescia
 

Thomas J. Embrescia is a 40 year veteran of the broadcast industry.

Mr. Embrescia spent most of his career owning and managing over 50 radio and television properties around the country including WMJI 105.7, WDOK 102.1, WQAL 104.1, 1100 WTAM, and 850 WKNR in Cleveland, Ohio. Other markets Tom has owned include Milwaukee, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.  

Tom’s company Second Generation Television built and owned WUPW TV, the Fox Television affiliate in Toledo, Ohio, WTVK-TV 6, the WB affiliate in Fort Myers-Naples, Florida and KFXA, the FOX affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Tom was on the board of directors of ACME Communications, which is the owned and operated arm of the Warner Brothers Television Network, with TV stations in 5 markets. He is a partner in Media One Group owning radio stations in New York and surrounding communities. He is the owner of Butler Broadcasting with radio stations in Fayetteville, Ark and also owns the largest Billboards in the State of Ohio.

Mr. Embrescia’s investment arms, Second Generation Ltd. secondgen.com and X Gen Ltd., are owners and investors in many diverse businesses including marketing, Bio Medical, Teleradiology, manufacturing and internet, including top level domains .JOBS, goto.jobs, .REALTOR, get.realtor, .REALESTATE, get.realestate .CAREER, nic.career, and .MED, trust.med.

President: F. Matthew Embrescia

Prior to joining Second Generation, Matthew spent over 8 years working in the Broadcast Industry in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco as a successful sales executive and sales manager for Katz Communications, Cox Broadcasting, KBLX Radio, and Comcast.

As President of Second Gen, Matthew serves as one of the primary contacts with the entrepreneurs and management teams among his portfolio companies.  He is responsible for driving growth and building value for all of Second Gen’s various investments.  In addition, he is responsible for identifying new investment opportunities and evaluating acquisition and divestiture opportunities.

A graduate of Georgetown University with a B.S.B.A in Marketing, Matthew became fluent in Spanish while studying during a college year abroad at the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, Spain.

Matthew and his wife live in Shaker Heights along with their two young daughters and son.

Vice President & CFO:  Scott C. Finerman

Scott has been Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Second Generation, Ltd. since 1999.  Scott is a Certified Public Accountant and is a lawyer (inactive) in the state of Ohio.  Scott is involved in the financial review and oversight of many of the portfolio companies.  Scott also assists in evaluating new investment opportunities.

Scott, a resident of Highland Heights, previously was a Partner at Cohen & Company, a regional public accounting firm where he worked for 17 years.  Scott helped develop the firm’s Litigation Support Department, advised entrepreneurs and served on the Executive Committee.

Scott graduated from Mayfield High School, The University of Michigan – majoring in accounting, and Cleveland Marshall College of Law.  His civic activities have included serving as Board Member and President of the City Club of Cleveland, being a Board Member and President of Cleveland Marshall Law Alumni Association, being a Board Member and Officer of the Cleveland Baseball Federation, Leadership Cleveland Class of 1998 and serving as treasurer for political campaigns.

Vice President & General Counsel:  Brian D. Johnson

A registered patent attorney, Brian has over 15 years experience in intellectual property law, transactional law and litigation.  Beginning his legal career as a public defender for Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Brian transitioned to an intellectual property attorney practicing in the areas of software, internet and general technology.  Brian assisted in the acquisition of the .jobs top-level domain license for Second Generation, and now focuses on domain- and technology-related matters for Second Gen, along with other legal matters for many Second Gen entities.

Brian has a B.S. in Systems Analysis from Miami University and a J.D. from The Ohio State University School of Law.
